Aloha all,
Thanks for stopping by. I saw this amazing chicken pen card by Karen Burniston and just knew that it had to be recreated. Unfortunately, I do not own the chicken wire die but thanks to Craft Edge I was able to find a free svg.
Of course, I had to use KBD's adorable rooster. The cardstock used came from my local craft store and I used my chalk ink to give it a splash of brown.
I was going for that distressed wood look. Didn't quite turn out the way I had hoped but I am still very pleased with the outcome.
To finish this card off I added some fall colored flowers to the edge and some hay to poke out of the coop. The card is from one of my favorite blogs to follow, A star for Chiemi. I highly recommend you go visit her page. She makes some of the cutest creations.
Of course my card would not be complete without using my favorite stamps and dies from Jaded Blossom.
I hope you enjoyed my card and if you decide to put a different spin on this, please let me know. I would love to see what you come up with.
Hope you all have a scrappy day and a wonderful Labor Day weekend.
Oh my goodness as soon as I saw this I had to come to your blog! Super Cute!!!!

ReplyDeleteHi Minnie, I sent an email out to the creator of A Star for Chiemi and she actually sent the file to me. You should probably try to ask her first as this card is actually her creation. If not, I would be more than happy to send you my version.

DeleteOMG, Melissa, this has got to be the CUTEST take on this sliding box card that I've ever seen!!! So DARN CUTE!!! What a fabulous idea to add the chicken wire to the window to create a little coup for that adorable chicken. Totally LOVE it!

DeleteI tried to send e-mail to the creator of A Star for Shiemi and couldn't. Could you please give me a link to get in touch with her. This card is so pretty and I would like to buy the file somehow. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, I would love to give you her email, but her email is actually set to private. If you have a google account you can email her right under her profile. It will send the email directly to her. Please let me know if this helps. If not, I will ask her if it's okay for me to share this file.
DeleteThis is adorable! I saw your post on the JB Facebook page and was inspired to check out your blog. You create beautiful cards :)
