Mourner's Top Hat

Hi all,

Have I told you that Halloween is my favorite holiday? I just love looking at all the creative costumes, haunted houses and of course the much needed, highly anticipated, free candy! LOL! I have a serious sweet tooth.

Anyway, enough about me, on to my creation. For today's project, I want to share with you my much beloved Mourner's Top Hat by SnapDragon Snippets. This design can also be found in the Silhouette online store, # 67665.

Isn't this hat amazing! When I first started this hat, I was ready to scrap it. But I am so glad that I just kept going with it and the result to me is amazing. To create the splatter effects I used a regular black crayola marker and just splashed it all over my paper piecings, let it dry, embossed it with Stampin Up's Spider Web embossing folder, and inked edges.
The skull with the feather boa was found at Joanne's and to add accents to the hat, I used dies from Jaded Blossom.
To create the worn, distressed feather look, I just brushed the feathers back and forth over my jeans, assembled all the pieces and viola!

Hope you guys enjoyed this and as usual, wishing you all a scrappy day!
